I would like to welcome you to the Oklahoma Innovation Center. In an effort for continuous improvement, Oklahoma agencies have examined how services could better meet the needs of those seeking services. Governor Brad Henry has appointed citizens and leaders from across the state to serve on Oklahoma's Transformation Advisory Board. This ground-breaking group will provide input for a comprehensive plan that addresses the recommendations outlined in the President's New Freedom Commission on Mental Health. Oklahoma's communities are ready to embrace new approaches for service delivery. These new approaches will give consumers broader discretion in how decisions are made about their care. To support these efforts, a state and federal partnership created the Oklahoma Innovation Center to assist with a systemic transformation process.
The initial steps towards change were made as Oklahoma conducted a state wide assessment of the mental health and substance abuse needs within the state. In response to the areas identified in the Needs Assessment, Oklahoma developed a Comprehensive State Plan to address the needs identified. It is this plan that will serve as a roadmap towards changeing the way mental health and substance abuse services are delivered within our state. Since both of these documents are "living" works, please feel free to follow the links below to review and provide any comments you may have concerning these tools.

All change must start from within. It is with this in mind that Oklahoma has assembled 6 workgroups consisting of service providers, service recipiants, and key stakeholders, all of whom are change agents in their own right. These members have been brought together to be the catylist for change in their respective areas. These workgroups have been charged with leading the state on it's journey of transformation with the Comprehehsive Plan as their roadmap.
Change is taking place! Follow the link to find out more about the workgroups and how YOU can participate!
